First day of school...

If you can't tell from all my previous posts ;)  ...I LOVE September.
The anticipation of school...the colors just beginning to touch the leaves on the trees...the crispness in the air from the open windows...the wonderful fall foods...
We came home a day early from up north to run last minute errands, clean up the house, and just get Ethan relaxed before his day at his new school.
It was a wonderful day...
My fabulous hubby made his famous homemade French Onion Soup...French Bread and Olive oil...and a nice glass of Red Wine...

Ethan was soooo excited for his first day of preschool today!
He got up, watched some Phineas and Ferb...ate pancakes in the kitchen (breakfast at home is new for us)!...then off to school!  We walked in, he showed his new teacher (Mrs. Angel) his Spiderman backpack (his Batman one is on backorder until Oct...of course), they exchanged spidy web hands...he gave me two GIANT hugs...kissed me goodbye...and ran over to the table to play legos...
...I started to cry...
Mrs. Angell says "that was great!  it's always harder on the parents..now go get a coffee!"...
so I left...
I couldn't help wondering if he knew that I left?...would he turn around 10 minutes from then and realize that I was gone...?  would he be sad...?  would he find a friend...? who will he sit with at lunchtime...?
for now, I haven't gotten any phone calls...so I am just hoping that he is having a BLAST!!!!!

  1. Aww, what a sweet picture. He looks very happy. I think he will do just fine in school and you will do just fine once you are sure that he is happy and enjoying himself. It's always a big step though when they go to school.
I love the sounds of that special dinner. How nice that you didn't have to cook it.

  3. looking forward to a part two to see how it went! I was the same way- when it was easy for them to leave me I felt a little sad... but when they would wrap their legs around me and not want to go that bugged me... tee hee- I guess I'm never happy! It sounds like it is going to be a great year for E too! Hang in there mama! If there is one thing I have learned from being a teacher for all these years- no matter how comfy they are at school as Dorothy says, "There's no place like home!"-
    Hugs- L
