We will always remember...

Our plans usually include a big family trip Up North every year on Memorial weekend...

which is beyond FANTASTIC...

We put in the dock...swim...cook...eat...drink...kayak...play in the sand...fish...read books...talk...play games...sit on the dock and sip coffee...look out for Loons...breathe in the fresh air...and just basically enjoy each other...

But...this year we are staying home...

which is pretty fantastic too!

Swimming still (but, in a pool this time!!) 

I NEVER mind that!

Still eating food...sipping cocktails...and enjoying each other...

Yardwork...

Hubby and I are gearing up for some MAJOR yard work this weekend!

Trimming hedges and bushes...

Filling planters...

Pulling weeds...

New sand for Ethan's sandbox...

Picking up a couple ferns for my deck...

and dreaming about all the other wonderful things I would like to do to my house...

& p.s. someone remind me to wear a caftan at my next party please!
too great!

but, can't...because...

a)  I am definitely not this talented (even on my best day)
b)  I don't have enough money!

But...it will look pretty and will make me so happy to sit down at the end of the day...

PEONIES!!!!!!

Seriously...

there is nothing that makes me happier

than my peonies in full bloom in my backyard...

What SUCKS is that they bloom for, literally, 2 weeks and then...

BOOM.

dead.

So, I have to pick them to be able to enjoy them!

My wonderful hubby bought me two bushes for my birthday when we first moved into our home

6 years ago...

The hot pink POP in my kitchen and dining room amongst the black and white is just stunning...

EVERY time I walk into the kitchen, I actually stop and say "DAMN THOSE ARE BEAUTIFUL"...

I am not joking...

EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.

They last a couple days...the ants crawl out of them...and all over our house...

my son gets freaked out...and my husband complains because he just spent the week prior to this getting all the ants OUT of our house...

and then I bring them back in...

I can't help it...

I am IN LOVE.

He understands...
