vacation...

Taking a really..really...long 11 days off work starting tomorrow!!
Yay!

I am looking forward to spending some time with my sweet, deserving, wonderful, loving child...
just me and him...

swimming, playing at the park, walking around at the zoo, throwing a ball, visiting friends and family, boat rides, eating ice cream cones...and just snuggling with my baby...

(and a little much needed time with our sweet doggie Harlow too!)

go candace...

So, I was in between classes for the last 2 weeks and had some free time on my hands...so I decided to watch this show called Lipstick Jungle.  It was on a few years ago and I never watched it then, but boy do I wish I would have!

a.)  The clothes are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G...with a capitol A!
b)  Lindsay Price's outfits are TO DIE FOR...
c.)  I don't find a lot of men hot...but, there is a guy named Robert Buckley, who, my oh my, ties David Beckham...(& if you know me at all...this is HUGE)!
d.)  Did I mention the clothes are GORGEOUS...?

Anyway, this is based on a book by Candace Bushnell, who also did Sex and the City...they have got to have the same costume designers too...
Go Candace...Go Candace...

Lindsay Price is my new fashion icon...

these pics are all great, but don't even compare to the show...

the ghost chair...

Recently, I have become obsessed with these chairs...
I have seen them around for quite a while, but I am just now embracing their beauty...function...simplicity, and the absolutely facinating way they can blend into each and every style home beautifully...

{saving my money for either 2 in my dining room or 1 for my library desk chair (with the arms of course)...
or in my little girls room... in pink! (well, if I had a little girl;)}

This one (above) is my FAVORITE...love the throws on each chair

girls night...

Girls Night is coming up...
(I love girls night:)

We are hoping for gorgeous Summer weather this weekend *praying* actually, so we can possibly have a cocktail on the boat or head out to the bar and sit on the patio...watch the boats come in...eat some great food...sip some summer cocktails...laugh a TON...and just catch up with each other...

In case you didn't know...
My friends are amazing...I don't know what I would do without each and every one of them.  I have the wonderful privilege of sharing my life with strong, creative, confident, sincere, kind, intelligent, and beautiful women.  They each fulfill a part of me in a different way.
They each have characteristics and passions different from each other, but we blend beautifully together...

I am grateful and thankful for each one of them every day...

and the winner is...

So, a week or so ago, I was searching for some fabric to recover my black barstool seats (right now they have padded leather on the seat)...
after many choices, my girlfriend Tracey helped me pick one out!  They arrived the other day and the fabric is PERFECT!  Seamlessly blends with my kitchen and family room beautifully!

and the winner is...

{from MOOD fabrics}

Yay!  Can't wait to recover them! (thanks Trace)!!!!

sick...

Our Memorial weekend started out beautifully...Up north at our family cabin on the lake...(beautiful and relaxing)...
Sat morning began with a sunny, 83 degree day...the whole family, including 4 dogs (our new baby doggie Harlow included!) played in the sand, went boating, swimming, sipping boat drinks, eating great food and basically just LOVING life...

Sunday morning things went downhill...my sweet little boy woke up with an upset tummy and NO energy...he fell asleep sitting up at the table not even 5 minutes after waking up, so I layed him on the couch and he proceed to throw up each and every sip of water I gave him for the next 8 hours.  We decided to take the 3 hour trek home, just to be close to a hospital if needed.  E threw up the whole car ride and well into the rest of the evening...we called the pediatrician at 9:00 to get some advice and she told us to try again and if he couldn't keep anything down still to take him to the ER.

We got in the car at 12:30 am Sunday evening, arrived at the ER and they said that our sweet little boy was so dehydrated that the veins in his left arm had completely collapsed.  They got an iv going in his right arm (he couldn't even move) and began the drip.  Apparently his electrolytes should normally be between 22 and 24...he was a 12.  SEVERELY dehydrated...

I felt AWFUL...the worst mom in history...but, the very nice ER nurse I chatted with for an hour at 2:00 am got us a room in the ped floor immediately (thank God)...
We got a room and for the next day and a half, little E had an iv drip, continuious observation and blood drawn...He was a trooper and LOVED eating limitless vanilla ice cream!!!!

We are home now and all is back to normal...and now I know that I will NEVER under any circumstances allow my child to throw up for that long again...

what.a.weekend...

{love this little boy to death}
